After having done some basic research into Glasgow festivals, I was amazed at how many events take place within Glasgow in any given week, month and year. Visit Glasgow’s web site listing over 1000 different events, art exhibitions, club nights, film nights, sporting events, charity events…….
When investigating a little further and analysing the venue lists for the different festivals I notice the festivals all use similar venues within the city. All at different times, for different purposes. I noticed that there wasn’t a venue that was universally used for all festivals. What I feel is missing in Glasgow is a venue which is a constant presence within the city. A showcase venue showing the people of Glasgow the wealth of activities taking place on a day to day basis.
